What do I need to get started?

You will first need a completed, original manuscript, whether a children’s book or a novel. For journals, we will need to know your general idea of the layout.

If you’re publishing a children’s book, please have 1 sample of the style of illustrations you are interested in. We’ve made it easy for you—choose from one of our vetted illustrators or let us know if there is something else that you are looking for. Either way, we will match you with a talented illustrator who will help bring your story to life.

How can I keep my work confidential while working with you?

To prioritize our clients' safety and protection, we implement a non-disclosure agreement that prevents us from using your work, assuring our clients of their security and our commitment to their best interests. As part of our promotion plan, we'll request your permission before sharing any details about you as the author or synopses of your book.

How long will my project take to complete?

The duration for completing the publishing process can vary based on the demand of the project. Several factors influence the timeline, such as the scope of the manuscript, the complexity of editing and formatting, cover design, illustrations, printing, and distribution requirements.

To ensure the highest quality and to meet your specific needs, we offer a flexible timeline that can be tailored to your project. While we can provide estimates based on similar projects, it's essential to note that each book is unique, and the timeline may be subject to adjustments. We can loosely say to plan for a minimum of 6 months.

How much will my project cost to complete?

The fastest way for us to provide you with our best-estimated quote is to have your manuscript completed, your choice of illustrator from Zou Zou Media House and an idea of what your marketing needs are.

The cost of Illustrations will vary according to the illustrator, number of pages to illustrate, number of characters, the details of the background or whether you want your illustrations to be across a full page (known as a spread), a half a page or 1/4 page. We are not able to offer a quote until we are made aware of the style of illustrations you have chosen.

What is the payment structure?

We will require a deposit of 30% to begin working on your project, 20% midway and the remaining 50% is due after the completion of work. If you need an extended payment plan, please speak to one of our representatives.

We accept various styles of payment, including PayPal, credit cards, e-transfer or cash. Please note there is a 3% transaction fee for payments through PayPal and credit cards. E-transfers can be sent to info@zouzoumedia.co.

I need to purchase copies of my book in bulk quantities, can you help?

Absolutely! We are a full-service self-publishing support agency for aspiring authors which includes printing books of various genres, sizes and binding styles. We can print a minimum of 250 copies to thousands of copies. Keep in mind that there is a direct correlation in price with the requested quantities. The more copies you print during a single run, the more cost-effective it is per unit. Let us know about your printing needs, we’re happy to assist you.
